A needlework casket, the lid worked in coloured silks on an ivory silk ground, the figures in raised work, with the Judgement of Solomon, the front doors with silks and chenille depicting King Solomon under a canopy, the Queen of Sheba bearing a chalice and their attendants, the back with leopard, stag, birds and a cottage, one side with a hound chasing a fox, a castle behind, the other side also with a castle, the interior fitted with two bottles, various compartments and drawers, the front with a false panel revealing secret drawers, lined in pink silk and marbled paper--9 x 12.25 x 8in.
