A pair of half-eight eight panel screens, ink, colours and gold on paper
One screen with many-peopled scenes in and around Osaka including pleasure boats and picnic parties along a river, a variety of craft shops and fast-food outlets, a taikobashi [hump-backed bridge] leading over a canal to a shrine (probably the Sumiyoshi Shrine, the other screen with similar scenes including pleasure boats in Wakanoura Bay with its characteristic spit of pine-clad land jutting into the sea; to the left the Kimiidera Temple, and further to the left a daimyo processioin with a norimono [palanquin] arriving at a castle, probably Wakayama Castle, some old water damage and repainting
Each panel 22¼ x 14 7/8 in. (56.5 x 37.7cm.) (2)
