Signed Masaaki, Late Edo/Early Meiji Period (Circa 1850-80)
With dark brown patination, the wide, low rounded hexagonal body rising from a short vertical footring, each of the six edges finishing in a stylised wave form curving over the shoulder which rises to a tall, narrow hexagonal neck finishing in an undercut vertical hexagonal rim with a cast keyfret pattern, the neck decorated with a separately-cast three-clawed dragon clasping a crystal ball in its left front foot, signed in cast seal characters on the slightly recessed base Masaaki no in [seal of Masaaki]
