The case in the form of a classical oil lamp, with handle surmounted by the figure of a winged classical maiden (possibly associated) warming her hands at a brazier and spout terminating in a lion head with flambeau finial, raised on a spreading socle with ovolo cast border, on stepped oval plinth with frontal mount cast as two caduceuses flanking a lyre, on four flattened feet with reeded borders, the white enamel Roman dial with gilt star five minute markers and Arabic quarters, signed Courvoisier à Paris (cracks and restorations), with steel moon hands, the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell
