The case with rosewood crossbanding and ebony and boxwood line inlay, with brass urn finial to the swan neck pediment, the trunk with hygrometer above bayonet-fixed alcohol thermometer, with central silvered Roman clock dial with steel moon hands, pendulum beat setting above XII, the four pillar twin chain fusee movement with arched plates, with anchor escapement and strike on bell (the clock possibly later), the 12in. diameter silvered main dial with engraved scale, signed to the centre A. Tagliabue 31 Brook Street, Holborn below engraved foliate scrolls, with turned bone key and spirit level below, the clock possibly later
