Rectangular book cover, the hinged front and back inset with sablé gold panels enamelled en taille d'épargne in opaque blue with scrolls and centred with oval convex translucent blue enamel panels applied with silver-mounted rose-cut diamond flowersprays, the curved spine engraved with rosettes within rectangles divided by blue enamel bands enclosing a Roman 'I', the shaped hinged frosted gold clasp enamelled in blue and centred by a cross studded with rose-cut diamonds
