Stylistically this figure is very similar to a Hongzhi period cast-iron figure of a seated luohan bearing a dated inscription corresponding to 1497, illustrated in Zhongguo lidai jinian foxiang tudian (Illustrated Chinese Buddha Images through the Ages), Beijing, 1995, no. 326 and p. 551.
