North has re-assigned all the profile Halfgroats with mintmark rose to York, N.1751/2, on the basis of an obverse die-link between a coin with keys on the reverse and another without, SCBI 23 962-3. Metcalf, SCBI 23, p.xxxv, argues that the transfer should only encompass Potter and Winstanley Canterbury no. 2/3 and no.3. This would make coin (a) above an issue of the York mint, without keys below (N.1751/2; S.2262A)
