Tasting note: 21 Alc/vol. Tawny/mahogany hue. Viscous.
A deep, rich, 'moody', smoky nose combining, caramel, toast, black chocolate and a ripe warm mulberry fruit reminiscent of tawny port.
Thick in texture with plenty of glycerol but firm cut in acidity giving a bone dry nutty finish. Full, ripe, raisin-like fruit. Classic old Amontillado style with hazelnut and almond. Superb balance and 'tension' between fruit and acidity. Marvellous nutty finish and great length. Glorious wine. T.H.
