The case with bevelled glass viewing aperture to the top surmounted by a bronze handle well cast in the form of conjoined dolphin heads, glazed sides, the base carved with stylised acanthus and on bronze block feet, chevron-hatch engraving on the silvered mask in the front door to the engraved brass Roman dial signed John Moore & Sons, London. with blued steel gothic hands, foliate engraved spandrels, the twin chain fusee movement with five baluster pillars, maintaining power to the going fusee, the large gilt platform lever escapement with cut bimetallic compensated balance, strike on bell secured to the plain back-plate with winding squares and hand-set button; with pine travelling case with dovetail joints, green baize interior lining and gilt-brass handle to top
