A GREEK TERRACOTTA INCENSE BURNER
Canosan, Circa 3rd Century B.C.
In the form of a woman's head gazing up and to the right, wearing large stippled earrings and a thick fillet with leaves in her wavy hair, surmounted by three acanthus leaves, her flaring neck resting on a high square base with a perforation at each corner, traces of polychrome preserved over white slip; together with four terracotta figures of Eros, two with wings, each pulling their mantles to reveal their bulging stomachs, perhaps originally joined to corners of the incense burner
