Letter in French on gilt-edged paper, signed 'Napole', from St. Cloud, 12 November 1811, 3½pp, 4°, to the Duc de Feltre, a long and detailed letter regarding the Elbe River artillery and cavalry divisions and organising their supplies, with note pinned to lower left corner acknowledging receipt (creased on folds).
Letter in French on gilt-edged paper, signed 'Np', from St. Cloud, 12 November 1811, 1½pp, 4°, to the Duc de Feltre, concerning troop movements and ordering the equipment of troops in Germany and making plans for the coming winter, with note pinned to lower left corner acknowledging receipt (creaed on folds).
Document in French, signed 'Duc de Feltre', with autograph numerical corrections in the hand of Napoleon, on Ministry of War printed stationery, 'Bureau du Mouvement des Troupes', 31 March 1811, 2½pp, folio, a detailed inventry of troop numbers, horses, equipment and supplies of the German army, six autograph amendments of the figures by Napoleon with a six line calculation at the foot also in his hand (creased on folds).

The first letter in this lot has a good example of the longer version of Napoleon's signature used when Emperor and it is also unusual to find examples of numerical corrections in his hand. All three documents, hitherto unpublished, show his meticulous attention to detail and his interest in every aspect of his vast army, here concentrating his attention on his German army prior to the Russian Campaign, ensuring that they are properly equipped and supplied.
