Frank Hurley (1885-1962)
The Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, 1914-16: a folio of seven photographs, including the Endurance beset by ice in the Weddell Sea; Grytviken whaling station, South Georgia; Patience Camp; The Marooned Party on Elephant Island; and others, some inscribed by Hurley on the reverse; with forty four photographs relating to the expedition, the majority posthumous reprints after Hurley, and one proof of an exhibition board (THE SHACKLETON EXPEDITION/THE SALVING OF THE NEGATIVES) for the 1961 'Exhibition of Shackleton's Expedition' at the Salon Gallery, Kodak, Sydney.
