Edmund Dunch a politician and bonvivant, was a Member of Parliament for Cricklade, 1701-2, and later 1705-13; Boroughbride, 1713-15 and Wallingford, 1715-19. He was made Master of the Royal Household in 1708 and became a member of the Kit-Kat Club in 1714 where his fame for gambling was renowned.

Derived from the prototype by Kneller at Beningborough Hall, Yorkshire.
