Maria-Ludovica-Beatrice ('Luigia'), the youngest child of Archduke Ferdinand of Habsburg and his wife Maria-Beatrice of Este, was born in 1787. In 1808, she became the third wife of Emperor Francis II of Austria but died as early as 1816, suffering from tuberculosis. Maria-Ludovica showed a keen interest in literature and was a friend of Johann-Wolfgang von Goethe.
