The first with rounded two-piece skull with overlapping riveted joint, pivoted peak of two pieces with three-bar face-guard, and neck-guard of three simulated lames with iron-headed rivets (ear-pieces missing, peak and neck-guard replaced); the second with plain turns at the neck, arms, medial ridge, and narrow waist-flange, struck with a shot-proving mark and 'EO 58' below the neck: on wooden stand

The 'EO' mark may be the maker's mark of Edward Oxendon (also spelt Oxington) of Filmorton, Warwickshire. Apprenticed to Edward Ansley between 1623 and 1631, he is recorded as having received subcontracts from the Armourers' Company in 1648/9 and 1654, and was made Master of the Armourers' Company in 1667
