The 'EO' mark may be the maker's mark of Edward Oxendon (also spelt Oxington) of Filmorton, Warwickshire. Apprenticed to Edward Ansley between 1623 and 1631, he is recorded as having received subcontracts from the Armourers' Company in 1648/9 and 1654, and was made Master of the Armourers' Company in 1667
