TWO MEISSEN ORMOLU-MOUNTED TWO HANDLED SHAPED OVAL TUREENS AND TWO COVERS
Circa 1745, traces of blue crossed swords mark to one tureen, Pressnummer 26 to tureens and covers, the mounts 19th Century
Painted with Holzchnitt Blumen and scattered ombrierte insects, the finials of the domed covers formed as boar's heads supported by scrolls moulded with shells and foliage, each with foliate scroll handles on a pierced base of scrolling foliage, (hairline crack from rim of one tureen, slight chipping to finial of one cover)
Approximately 123/8 in. (31.5 cm.) high overall (4)
