A FINE PAIR OF GREEN AND YELLOW 'DRAGON' SAUCER DISHES
QIANLONG SEAL MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD

Each decorated in the centre with a full-face dragon leaping around a flaming pearl, below two dragons in mutual pursuit in the well crested by a scalloped rim, the exterior with a frieze of detached flower sprigs, all incised under a green glaze reserved on a lemon-yellow ground

Cf. a pair of dishes with the same decoration on the interior and exterior from the T.Y. Chao Collection, exhibited at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1973, Catalogue, no. 41.
