The bowl is painted in vibrant cobalt-blue tones on the exterior with pairs of mandarin ducks swimming on a lotus pond inbetween stylised overlapping lotus petals around the foot and a band of breaking waves under the mouthrim, the interior painted with plantain, pine and juniper trees divided by stylised clouds encircling a double vajra on the medallion (breaks restuck)
