Portrait of Mr. Alderman, full-length, wearing a dress of the Ex-Sheriff Roll

The present work is said to be an original sketch by the artist and was exhibited at the Royal Academy, London (1911). Mr. Alderman (1838-1920), here wearing the uniform of Master of the Rolls (appointed 1907), was later given the title Baron Herbert, Hardy Coezens, Hardy of Letheringsett Hall, Dereham, Norfolk (1914).
