etching and drypoint in dark brown, 1879-80, on laid paper, watermark WW, third state (of nine), signed with the butterfly and inscribed 'imp.' in pencil on the tab, a fine impression with rich burr on the drypoint and the plate tone carefully directed to contrast the luminous wall of the building at left and the watery sky and canal, an unobtrusive foxmark at the top right, a tiny paper loss in the small margin at top, not affecting the image, otherwise in very good condition, framed
