etching and drypoint in brown, circa 1879-80, on laid paper, a very fine impression with a delicate veil of tone in the water, a rare intermediate state between the sixth and seventh (final) states, with the main figure burnished away and not yet redrawn, signed with the butterfly and inscribed 'imp' in pencil on the tab, inscribed with the artist's tiny circle device (indicating a special impression) on the reverse, several small and very unobtrusive stains, otherwise generally in excellent condition, framed
