Lieutenant Harold Watthews was killed in action on 8.6.1917 while attached to the 10th Battalion on Hill 60, where, although nearly all his men had become casualties, he persisted in going forward to establish an advanced Signalling Post. He is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial.
