Private Colin Ford, aged 18 years, from Govan, Glasgow was killed in action on 28.6.1915 at Gallipoli and is buried in Twelve Tree Copse Cemetery, Cape Helles. The strength of the 8th Battalion after the attack made on enemy trenches H12 and H12a on 28 June totalled three Officers and 70 Other Ranks. Colonel Findlay records, 'Five minutes after they had started they were practically wiped out' - few men reached the enemy's line and those that did were either killed or wounded.
