In the Carolean style, circular on spreading foot, the lower part of the body chased with vertical acanthus below a horizontal band of overlapping leaves, with two leaf-capped scroll handles, the domed cover chased with a broad band of swirling acanthus on a matted ground, with bud finial, engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked on side and cover--12in. (30.5cm.) high
