The dome lid with finials en flambeau above glazed door flanked by pilasters, the foliate-cast velvet-covered gilt dial with roman enamel chapters and pierced blued hands, signed Thuret à Paris on an enamel plaque below within scrolling foliage, the timepiece single barrel movement with four vase-shaped back-pinned pillows, later anchor escapement, pull quarter repeat on two bells above, the backplate similarly signed, on reeded bun feet-21in. (53cm.) high, 12½in. (32cm.) wide, 6in. (15cm.) deep
