This table was part of a commission by Mrs. Post from the Societa Civile Arte del Musico, Florence in 1927. Both this table and a larger dining-table presently in the collection of the Hillwood Museum, Washington D.C. were designed for Mrs. Post for Mar-A-Lago by her architect, Joseph Urban. The tables are inlaid in yellow marble, lapis lazuli, red jasper, white alabaster, blackstone, green jasper, and green gabbro. These stones are inlaid in a pattern of acanthus and foliate sprays. The table was delivered to Mrs. Post in Florida in 1928.
