The armoire is believed to have come to Castle Helmond through the daughter of the ambassador to the Duchy of Mantua (at the court in Brussels).

The stepped cornice centered by a foliate armorial crest, on an applied scrolling foliage carved relief with a pair of confronting blind-folded putti holding a wreath, above a pair of coffered doors flanked by solomonic columns with composite capitals, the sides coffered, over a breakfront drawer with lion's mask pulls, on large bun feet
