Giambologna (Jean Bologna) 1529-1608, was of Flemish origin employed by the Medici Dukes of Florence to provide sculpture for their courts and its needs. One of the genius of his age, he bridged the gap between Michelangelo and Bernini through his elegant interpretations of classical subjects.
