AN EMPIRE CARVED MAHOGANY SECRETARY BOOKCASE, New York, 1820-1830, in two parts: the upper section with rectangular molded cornice above a pair of Gothic mullioned glazed doors enclosing three shelves flanked by tapering colonetts with carved Corinthian capitals; the lower section with two small drawers above a fall-front desk opening to a fitted interior with baize-lined writing surface above a pair of cupboard doors flanked by columns with carved Corinthian capitals, on lion's paw feet headed with acanthus leaf carving--102in. high, 46½in. wide, 23in. deep
