The deep bowl of slightly tapering form, on a spreading circular foot
7in. (17.8cm.) diam., overall, the foot -- 4in. (10.8cm.) diam., 6.1/8in. (15.5cm.) high

来源

The cup is sold with two hand written notes relating to its provenance: Thomas Crossman of Lower Hazel in the Parish of Olveston, Gloucestershire in the early 19th century. Thence by descent to his son Charles Danvers Crossman, Rector of High Ham, Somerset.

The Bowl was exhibited in the (Royal) Society of Antiquaries by the Reverend Charles Crossman in 1892. In their ''Proceedings'' records, the following is noted: ''H.R. Franklin... exhibited a standing mazer and cover... appears to be late sixteenth or early seventeenth century date. The Rev'd Danvers Crossman also exhibited a mazer of similar date and character, but without a cover.''
