Designed as an openwork spray with five drop-shaped pearl terminals and old-cut diamond-set leaves with a diamond collet to the central stem, circa 1890, mounted in silver and gold, one small diamond deficient, 6.0 cm high
With a later suede pouch by Chaumet, Paris
According to Chaumet, this piece is the central section of a tiara which was commissioned by the Comte de Pourtalès. The Comtesse Edmond de Pourtalès, who was a very good client of Chaumet, was also lady-in-waiting to the Empress Eugénie
