A GROUP OF THREE PIECED AND APPLIQUED COTTON QUILTED COVERLETS
American, 20th century
Comprising: one worked in red, blue and yellow in forty-two crosses flanked by yellow squares and yellow corner blocks, all against a white-ground with diagonal quilting, fifteen crosses have been reworked; another worked in variously patterned black and white cotton calicoes in twelve sun discs on a white-ground surrounded by diamond quilting enclosed by a scalloped border with similar black and white cotton calicoes; another worked in red, yellow and cream with variously patterned cotton calicoes in twenty squares in a variation of the Wagon Wheel pattern with red and cream alternating pinwheel centers, each enclosed by yellow bars and cream squares, on a red-ground with white binding and fan quilting
