Three English rural scenes, the first possibly the work of the artist, Sidney Richard Percy. Percy, from a family of artists, was a landscape painter who took photographs for reference for his paintings. His photographs depict rural subjects. Unlike other photographers who posed members of their families as rustic figures, Percy photographed real gypsies and farmworkers. A collection of his photographs is in the Victoria & Albert Museum. The latter may be by the photographer, William Sherlock.
