In the 1955-56 F.A.Cup final played at Wembley on 5th May 1956 before 100,000 spectators, Manchester City defeated Birmingham City 3-1, Johnstone scoring City's third and decisive goal in the 69th minute. Johnstone became the first-ever player to score a goal in back-to-back F.A.Cup final's this year.
