painted, gilt, applied in lacquer and inset in hardstone, bone and mother-of-pearl with various figures, bearded scholars, ladies and attendants at various pursuits in a central tiered pagoda beside a river in a fenced garden with rockwork and trees, within a border of geometic designs above vases of flowers, the reverse with birds amongst flowers and rockwork -- 73¾in. (187.3cm.) high, 19th Century.
