COL D'ORCIA
The prized "Poggio al Vento" vineyard was planted in 1974. Following manual harvest and rigorous selection the wine is fermented on the skins for 15 - 16 days at a controlled temperature of below 28 C. The wine then spends 4 1/2 years in oak casks of 50 hectolitres. It is only produced in exceptional vintages. These vintages have all received internationally-recognised awards in recent years
