Balgownie Estate was founded in 1969, by winemaker Stuart Anderson, and taken over by Milara Blass in the late 1980's. Small quantities of Cabernet-Sauvignon, Shiraz and Chardonnay are produced from it's own vineyards in the Bendigo district. 1989 was the last vintage in which Pinot-Noir was produced as it was later deemed that the 1 acre of vines was not viable on a commercial scale.
