According to the artist's account book, on February 26, 1890, Wood paid $.15 for the griddle cakes and $.50 for the tiles depicted in the present work. The following day he paid Ms. Purdin, the model, $1.25 for her time. On March 8, he paid D. Dinan $28.20 for the frame.
