El Bautismo de Cristo

This oil shows the outstanding level that Cuzquenian painters reached during the Seventeenth century. According to its characteristics, it may be deducted that it was painted by the highly ranked master Basilio Santa Cruz. Although this work is not signed, it probably was one of a series. In those days, only one canvas among those in a series bore the artist signature.
