Each boat-form, on four stylized shell feet with lobed scroll supports, with shaped gadrooned rim and lobed scroll handle with dolphin head join, engraved under the lip with a baron's armorials, marked under bases and with inventory numbers and scratch weights

The arms are those of John, 2nd Baron Monson, who succeeded to the title in 1748 on the death of his father. He married Theodosia, daughter of John Maddison and died in 1774.
