A GEORGE III SILVER SOUP TUREEN
MAKER'S MARK OF PAUL STORR, LONDON, 1808
Oval, on spreading foot, cast and chased with a band of flutes, the partly-fluted body with reeded acanthus leaf, shell and scroll bracket handles with lion's mask terminals, the slightly domed cover with detachable entwined serpent and foliage handle with beaded border, with fluted borders, the body and cover each engraved with two coat-of-arms, the foot with presentation inscription, marked on foot, cover and handle

The arms are those of Griffith and University College Oxford. The tureen was presented to James Griffith Esq., by the University on his retirement as Master
