A RARE SUITE OF SIX GEORGE II SILVER SALVERS AND WAITERS
MAKER'S MARK OF ROBERT ABERCROMBY, LONDON, 1735 AND 1736
Comprising: a large salver, a smaller salver and a set of four waiters, each shaped circular, the borders with alternating masks and shells, on three hoof feet, the largest on four scroll feet, each engraved with armorials within unusual rococo foliate scroll cartouches inhabited by a buccaneer with sword raised, an eagle in varying stances of attack and, on the largest, with a savage with raised hatchet, marked on reverses, each with traces of scratch weights
