The astragal-form bowl with a pierced foliate support surmounted by a gilt figural group of an Eskimo driving a sled drawn by a reindeer over icy terrain with a fringe of pendant icicles, on a trestle base with pierced and engraved scenic supports, one with an Eskimo and dogsled, the other with an Eskimo hunter and a bear, the bowl interior matte-finished, gilt, engraved with a stylized monogram and the date 1870, marked under base
