The glazed circular enamelled dial, with Roman and Arabic chapters signed 'CHARLES LE ROY A PARIS' and surmounted by a fluted plinth with reeded edge, flanked by scrolling husk-trailed handles and below a lotus-leaf and fluted urn with goat's-heads to the sides, the sides of the body with husk-trailing and upspringing acanthus and with pierced green silk-backed scrolling foliate, the glazed base with a husk-trail above a satyr's-mask with lambrequin headdress, the door inscribed '8 A. O. Rauhier', the movement inscribed to the reverse 'Charles LeRoy a Paris', with winder and pendulum
