The present drawing is part of a series of drawings on the New Testament, all of the same date and of similar format and handling. One of these, from the Mariette collection, was sold at Christie's, South Kensington, 19 April 1996, lot 92, illustrated, and two others, from the Rudolf Collection, were sold at Sotheby's, 4 July 1977, lots 28-9, illustrated.
