Including two seated portraits of Sir Jang Bahadur (1816-1877), Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of Nepal (1856-77) and his wife, a standing full-figure portrait of Maharaja Ranudip Singh (d. 1885) who succeeded his brother in these posts in 1877, and a group with Ranbir Jang, son of Sir Jang Bahadur. In the photomontage, the Nepalese ruler Chandra Shumshire is superimposed on the peak of a Himalayan mountain, illustrated in a painting. Chandra Shumshire was a popular leader who was killed in a coup led by his brother.
