Titles where given are as follows: 'Bhooteah Milkman', 'Bhooteah Family', 'First & only Bhootea convert to Christianity', 'Bhooteah Llamas (priests)', 'A hill Dandy', and 'Bhootea....Woman'; also including portraits of native Nepalese women in traditional dress.

Robert Phillips was a commercial photographer who established a photographic business in Darjeeling c. 1870s-80s which was continued by his wife after his death in 1882.
