Surmounted by a group of a shepherd and nymph, seated on a rock and about to cross a stream, he with a serpent coiled around the end of his crook, signed Gayrard and inscribed Vittoz Bronzier, the rectangular clock with circular specimen marble dial, with twin-train movement and countwheel strike on a bell, flanked to each side by a ribbon-tied spray of oranges and vines, on a rectangular foliate-cast base, the corners each with three putti supporting foliate festoons, on scrolled foliate-cast feet
