Descriptif du lot

In search of the cowboy lifestyle, Will James moved to the American West at the age of 15 from Quebec, Canada. Known for his Western genre paintings, James was also an accomplished writer and book illustrator. He won the Newberry Medal for his book Smoky and was also widely recognized for his fictionalized autobiography Lone Cowboy. James wrote and illustrated 23 books during his lifetime. The present work demonstrates his skill as a painter, creating a colorful scene teeming with movement and excitement, illustrating life in the West.
